A different kind of afternoon tea.
A familiar silhouette with an unexpected little world inside. The glass teapot brings a playful detail to a shelf, desk or dining table, with layers and leaves visible from every angle.
This is a terrarium project to plant and display. The photos show a finished styling example, rather than a pre-planted item arriving at your door.
Make a little time for making.
Clear a space, lay out your materials and enjoy building from the ground up. Layer the base, shape your soil, position your plants and add the finishing details.
There is no single design to copy. A winding path, a quiet clearing or a little jungle: the artistry is yours.
What arrives. What you create.

Beautiful to live with. Simple to understand.
A terrarium helps hold moisture around its plants, making a little world that needs observation rather than constant attention.
Keep it in bright, indirect light. Check moisture before adding water, remove tired leaves and trim when the planting needs room. Your living artwork will change as it grows.
Follow our plant selection, trimming and propagation guide for help getting started and caring for new growth.

A little guidance before you begin
No. This is a DIY kit to plant at home. The experience of layering and styling is part of what you are buying.
No previous terrarium experience is needed. Follow the planting guide, take your time and build a scene that feels like you.
Check the substrate and plants regularly, especially while the terrarium settles in. Add a little water only when needed; avoid waterlogging. A well-balanced covered terrarium may go for weeks or months between waterings, but light, ventilation, plant choice and room temperature change that interval. Use moisture as your guide, not a fixed calendar.
Choose bright, indirect light, away from direct sun and heating or cooling vents. Direct sunlight can overheat a glass terrarium.
Trim with clean scissors to keep the shape you enjoy. Remove dead leaves and take out larger plants when they outgrow the vessel. Suitable stem cuttings can be propagated for a fresh planting.
Look for small terrarium-suitable varieties of fittonia, Ficus pumila or peperomia. Ask your nursery for plants suited to a humid terrarium and choose compact growth. For WA, NT and Tasmania, source your plants locally; no plants or moss are sent with the kit.
Yes. It is a creative experience followed by a living display to enjoy. Check the recipient’s delivery state above so you know whether they will need to source plants locally.
